As much as I hate to admit it…

… I could easily go off Defeater, especially if any of their future material sways towards the style of their studio rendition of ‘But Breathing’ for the Radio 1 rock show.
A very unsuited liveliness in contrast to the lyrical content (personally, but I felt it had unhealthy pop-punk undertones which is never a good thing in my books) However, after 3 blinding albums that shall forever grace the very top end of my all-time-favourites list, they are perhaps due a bit of a change. As the saying goes, “you can have too much of a good thing”*. Gotta say, they really do make for brilliant concept records and have a rather individual sound which I love to bits, but a change is as good as a rest, particularly if something as wonderful as good, innovative music is concerned. Althoughhhh another album like ‘Lost Ground’ would definitely not go amiss.

*this saying shall never apply to Converge. Forever shall they remain utterly mindblowing. Beyond stoked on hearing the new tracks.

On a nigh-on-unrelated side note, I think Dead Swans and Trapped Under Ice are absolutely terrible, and I will not be tuning in for the fourth and final Defeater track as I would have to endure live sessions from Title Fight and probably more music that I really wasn’t pleased to sit through in order to hear what I wanted.

Anyway, enough of me having an opinion on something for a change, I am back off under my rock until I’m once again out of touch with normal society.
